We are always looking for people with experience in marketing and communications to join our talent pool, to be considered for a variety of temporary and permanent positions we continually receive with our clients. Our clients include the provincial government, Crown corporations, non-profit organizations, and private firms. Opportunities can include but are not limited to the following positions: Copywriter, Transcriber, Copyeditor, Digital Marketing Assistant, Account Executive, Marketing Coordinator, Communications Specialist, Event Coordinator, Graphic Designer.

Locations of Work: Victoria

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and edit copy for various materials (digital and print) and audiences (e.g. newsletters, blog posts, manuals, adverts, etc.)
  • Contribute ideas for strategic communications and branding
  • Create and edit internal and external correspondence
  • Create and execute email marketing campaigns
  • Review website content, purge outdated copy and add relevant content
  • Edit website links and sharing tools to improve SEO
  • Create and schedule social media posts
  • Adapt social media marketing strategy to increase engagement
  • Transcribe documents and convert manual files into digital format
  • Design logos, signage and other graphics for print and online publications
  • Assist in the brainstorming of strategies for improving sales
  • Create and edit videos
  • Coordinate and host marketing events
  • Liaise with clients, media and stakeholders
  • Other support as required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • At least 1 year of full-time experience in marketing, communications, and corporate sales
  • Degree in Communications, English Literature, or other relevant field is preferred
  • Certificate in Copy Editing, Digital Marketing, etc., is useful
  • Demonstrated experience in creative and/or technical writing
  • Candidates with freelance experience only will be considered
  • Experience with Mac, MS Suites, and Google applications
  • Practical experience with Adobe, Photoshop, or Dreamweaver
  • Knowledge of website platforms e.g. WordPress, Wix, Squarespace
  • Proficient user of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, etc.)
  • Coding experience with knowledge of programming languages (HTML, CSS, Java, Python) is an asset
  • Creative and innovative thinker
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Polished writing skills with an exemplary standard of business English
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Flexibility to changing demands with a strong ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
