Legal Admin Assistant

Primary duties include:
– Performing full clerical, administrative, organizational and general office duties
– Draft daily correspondence, document preparation, precedents, etc.
– Maintain BF system and daily time entry
– Book court dates and communicate with court registries
– Organize and assemble chamber records, books of authorities, lists of documents, appeal records and appeal books
– Obtain and index cases from QuickLaw and other sources
– Following proper file opening and closure procedures
– Setting up and maintaining filing and bring forward systems
– Meeting with clients, attending to client requests and general client care
– Initiating and responding to telephone and written inquiries
– Preparing and modifying a variety of legal documents
– Other administrative duties and general office maintenance as required

– Strong organizational and prioritization skills
– A demonstrated capacity to pay close attention to detail
– The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion and tact
– Strong word processing skills including superior accuracy and proofreading
– Strong organizational and document production skills (particularly large, complex documents)
– Strong file and calendar management skills

– Legal Administrative Assistant certificate or completion of an equivalent accredited program
– 2+ years of experience in a law office setting
– Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Word
– Minimum typing speed of 60wpm
